Robotics & Engineering
Engineering involves creating new technologies to solve real-world problems using math and science. Engineering is hands-on. So, students can “live” the math and science concepts and see their relevance in real-world applications. It fosters problem-solving skills through a structured approach that involves Planning, Creating, Testing and Improvising. In this sampler program, participants get a taste of different engineering fields including civil, mechanical, robotics and electrical.
At Kids Next Code, we provide an engaging learning experience for program participants. Brain research shows that fun and engagement are important ingredients for learning and memory.
How do we do it?
The foundation of our STEM experience is a 4 Dimensional Learning that includes:
Cross Cutting Concepts (CCCs),
Career Connections and Practices (CCPs)
Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
During our Robotics course, the students take a collaborative approach to problem solving. They will receive the opportunity to design, build, program, and test robots and other engineering models. Using the Engineering Design process, students will develop a test plan to measure the success of their programmed robot.
Engineering & Design
Students will learn the role engineers play in modern day society and will use the Engineering Design process to explore, understand, and develop engineering designs and functional hardware that can be applied to everyday life.
Students will explore the exciting world of drones! Each camper will build their own drone and be exposed to flight principles, underlying physics, aerodynamics, manufacturing, and the drone technology that makes it all possible.
